1. What we collect

• Account details — your name, email address, and (optionally) phone number and city, when you register.
• Order details — delivery address, phone number, and what you ordered, so we can actually get your food to you.
• Reviews — your name and whatever you write in a review you choose to leave.
• Payment information — handled entirely by our payment processor (see below); we never see or store your full card number.

2. How we use it

To create and run your account, process and deliver your orders, send you order-status updates by email, respond to support requests, and — only if you've opted in — send you occasional updates about FOODBUZZ. We don't sell your personal data to anyone.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of third-party services to actually run the platform, and each one only receives what it needs to do its job:

• Paystack — processes card and bank-transfer payments. Your card details go directly to Paystack, never through our own servers.
• Cloudinary — hosts the images shown on the platform (menu photos, and any image an admin uploads).
• Resend — sends transactional emails on our behalf (verification, password reset, order-status updates).

We don't share your personal data with anyone else except where required by law.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember things like your cart contents and your light/dark theme preference, purely to make the site work the way you'd expect between visits. This stays on your device — it isn't sent to us or to anyone else.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your account and order history for as long as your account is active, since it's also your order history and receipts. You can ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time, subject to any records we're legally required to keep (for example, transaction records for tax purposes).

6. Your rights

You can ask to see what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can update most of your own details directly from your account's Profile and Settings pages at any time.

7. Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
